With Autumn well underway, it won’t be long before you’re swept away with nativity plays, card writing, drinks parties, tasty treats, copious amounts of visitors, and long supermarket lists. So before you get distracted, we thought it was the perfect time to give you a little inspiration towards your Christmas décor.

Whether you’re one for the traditional with Christmas reds and greens, love the ice white beauty of a Winter Wonderland, or want your decorations to be as unique as you are, preparing for the festive season is the perfect time to let your creativity flow.

We are about to walk you through five key themes for the Christmas season ahead, so get comfy, grab yourself a mince pie, and let us inspire you...

1. Keeping with tradition: Folklore

Let’s face it, you can’t think of Christmas without the colours of holly and Santa himself popping into your head. A rich red and green scheme conjures up a sense of tradition, so if you’re a fan of the classic, take inspiration from our Folklore theme.
 
Choose colours featured on the humble Robin red-breast, crimson Christmas berries, frosted holly stems, luscious green foliage and evergreen trees. Include a luxuriously rich brown accent colour to not only reflect the nature of the season, seen in natural fir cones, and textured bark, but to also nod towards the homely comforts of delicious Christmas puddings and warming mugs of hot chocolate. Finish by layering up cosy textiles like tartan blankets and knitted stockings, alongside a bold and beautiful, oversized bow… or ten.

2. Walk into a Winter Wonderland: Ice Skating

Fun and frosty afternoons, all wrapped up in fluffy scarves and gloves is a wonderful part of Christmas. If you prefer a more subdued, natural decorative palette that evokes a sense of simplicity and harmony, then you’ll love our Ice Skating inspired theme.

This lavish and beautiful theme is all about being cheerful and content - exactly how you feel after indulging in your Christmas dinner.

4. Warm and cosy Winter nights: Ski Lodge

Skiing is a wonderous Winter activity. It conjures up visions of wooden lodges, deep fluffy snow and hot chocolate by the fire. This is what inspired our Ski Lodge theme.
 
A celebration of beautifully natural tones and textures, the use of earthy elements in your Christmas décor will create a warm and cosy ambience. Embrace the beauty of nature and elegant craftsmanship by mixing a range of different sustainable materials to add depth to your scheme, these could include wood, glass, felt, paper, wool, and ceramic. Natural elements give an authentic, rustic feel. You could even take it one step further and gather inspiration from what you see in the natural world, including reindeer, pinecones, and even tiny mice!
